The Assembly Line Balancing Problem : Review articles

Abstract

The assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) consists of assigning tasks to an orderedsequence of stations such that the precedence relations among the tasks are satisfied and someperformance measure is optimized. In this survey paper we give an up-to-date review and discuss thedevelopment of the classification of the assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) which has attractedattention of researchers and practitioners of research for almost half a century. We also presentsuggestions and summaries for future research directions of the literature review.
