Abstract

This research is a study and analysis the free vibration of clamped-clamped beams and plates.Material property of the model was a carbon steel. A geometric ratio was varied from 0.25 to 20 andthickness 5 mm. The finite element method used for analysis and compute the natural frequency andmode shape. The mode shape was used to identify the vibration behavior of beam-like or plate-like.From graph of natural frequency versus geometric ratio will get the transition curve from plate-like tobeam-like behavior and the relative equation of natural frequency versus geometric ratio.
