Akkajit and her team conducted a preliminary study of plastic-debris contribution on beaches along the coast at Phuket Province. The article reveals that the influence of tourist and recreational activities showed a relationship between population density and number of microplastic debris found. Green and blue microplastic debris were mostly in fiber shape originated from pieces of rope, broken safeguard lines, personal care products and fishing materials.
