Immunoinformatics: A New Tool for Vaccine Research
Main Article Content
Abstract
Immunoinformatics is a new filed in immunology which demonstrates the use of bioinformatics for studying the interaction between antigens and host immune system. The method can be used to organize immunological data, analysis of antibody cross reaction, analysis of antigenic diversity and simulate the antigen processing and presentation. Currently, immunoinformatics become an important part of immunological research especially study of cell mediated immunity for infectious disease, autoimmune and cancer. This article will be focused on the use of computational strategies to predict T-cell epitopes from amino acid sequence of antigens derived from pathogens or tumors.
