The Development of the Elderly Population Database System: A Case Study of Sakom Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Thepha District, Songkhla Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) To develop the elderly population database system: a case study of Sakom Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Thepha District, Songkhla Province 2) To assess the effectiveness of the elderly population database system and 3) To assess satisfaction of using the elderly population database system. The elderly population database system was constructed in the form of Web Application which developed from HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP7 languages and connected to MySQL 8.6.0 database programs, Google Maps JavaScript API Version 3, and Bootstrap 4 Framework for supporting all operating systems. As the results of the research, it showed that the developed database system was able to gather verities of elderly population data forms such as texts, numbers, locations and pictures. It also display all those data through the Web Application. In relation to an evaluation of the effectiveness of the elderly population database system by 3 experts, it was figured out that it was at a very good level ( = 4.54; S.D. = 0.26). While an assessment of the satisfaction of using elderly population database system by 27 web application users, it was perceived that it was at a very satisfactory level ( =3.70; S.D. = 0.06). It was concluded that the developed system elderly population database in this research could be used in practice.
