NEEDS OF EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS IN THE ASEAN ECONOMICS COMMUNITY OF VOCATIONAL LABORS: ENTREPRENEUR PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) analyze confirmatory factors of employability skills in the ASEAN Economics Community of vocational labors; 2) study needs of employability skills in the ASEAN Economics Community of vocational labors from entrepreneur perspective. The sample was 420 chief executives or heads of departments of enterprises in Thailand, selected by Multi-Stage Random Sampling method. The questionnaire comprised of 82 items were used to collect data. The data were analyzed by mean, second order confirmatory factor analysis, needs analysis using Modified Priority Needs Index (PNImodified) and content analysis.  The findings for this research were as follows: Results of the second order confirmatory factor analysis showed that employability in the ASEAN Economics Community consisted of 3 principal factors and 10 minor factors Coherence between employability in the ASEAN Economics Community model and the obtained empirical data was high. Concerning needs employability skills in the ASEAN Economics Community of vocational labors from entrepreneur perspective, the results showed that there were needs in all 10 minor factors.
