A Development of Information System for Student’s Dormitory Admission for the Department of Student Affairs, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to develop an information system for student’s dormitory admission for the Department of Student Affairs, King Mongkut’s institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and 2) to study satisfaction of users toward the developed information system. Totally, samples in this study were 40 students accommodated in the student’s dormitory at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 2013, selected by quota sampling method. The research materials included 1) an information system for student’s dormitory admission for the Department of Student Affairs, King Mongkut’s institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and 2) a questionnaire on satisfaction of users toward the information system for student’s dormitory admission. In this study, the obtained data were analyzed for mean scores and standard deviations. The results showed that  1) in general, the developed information system for student’s dormitory admission for the Department of Student Affairs, King Mongkut’s institute of Technology Ladkrabang was at a high-quality level (=4.20, S.D.=0.32). In particular, when considering the results of the study in each specific aspects it was found that the developed information system gained the highest scores for its operational benefits (= 4.60), followed by system operational process (= 4.20) and layout presentation (= 3.80). 2) It was found that users were highly satisfied with the developed information system for student’s dormitory admission in general (=4.50, S.D.=0.27). In addition, when considering the results in specific aspects, it was found that the highest satisfaction score were on user compatibility (=4.61) and convenience (=4.58), followed by satisfaction on data accuracy (=4.32) which was ranged at a high level.
