บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอวิวัฒนาการและความก้าวหน้าของการประยุกต์ใช้เทคนิคการวัดค่านำไฟฟ้า (Electrical Conductivity - EC) สำหรับการประเมินคุณภาพและความว่องไวในการเกิดปฏิกิริยาปอซโซลานิก ซึ่งถูกพัฒนาขึ้นเพื่อก้าวข้ามข้อจำกัดของวิธีการทดสอบดั้งเดิม เช่น วิธีดัชนีการรับกำลังอัด (SAI) ที่ต้องใช้เวลานานและมักมีความคลาดเคลื่อนจากผลกระทบทางกายภาพ (Packing effect) เทคนิค EC ถือเป็นวิธีทดสอบทางอ้อมแบบรวดเร็ว (Rapid indirect method) ที่ติดตามการลดลงของปริมาณแคลเซียมไอออนในสารละลายปูนซีเมนต์ภายใต้อุณหภูมิควบคุมที่ 80 องศาเซลเซียส ซึ่งสามารถจำแนกแนวโน้มการทำปฏิกิริยาของวัสดุเบื้องต้นได้ภายในเวลาเพียง 24-28 ชั่วโมง จากการศึกษาที่เกี่ยวข้องจนถึงปัจจุบัน พบว่าเทคนิคนี้ได้รับการยอมรับอย่างกว้างขวางในการประยุกต์ใช้วิเคราะห์ศักยภาพของวัสดุทดแทนทางเลือกใหม่ที่มีความซับซ้อน เช่น เถ้าค้างสต็อกที่ถูกกระตุ้นเถ้าชีวมวลทางการเกษตร และวัสดุผสมร่วม โดยข้อมูลเชิงสถิติยืนยันว่าการลดลงของค่านำไฟฟ้ามีความสัมพันธ์ที่สอดคล้องกับวิธีทดสอบมาตรฐานดั้งเดิมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ อย่างไรก็ตาม เทคนิคนี้ยังมีข้อจำกัดที่ต้องระมัดระวังเมื่อประเมินกับวัสดุที่มีเกลือละลายน้ำ ปริมาณแคลเซียมสูง หรือมีแร่แคลไซต์แฝงอยู่ ท้ายที่สุด บทสรุปของการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่า เทคนิค EC ถือเป็นเครื่องมือคัดกรองเบื้องต้นที่ทรงประสิทธิภาพ ซึ่งเมื่อนำมาพิจารณาร่วมกับการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบทางเคมี จะช่วยร่นระยะเวลาในการวิจัยวัสดุทดแทนปูนซีเมนต์ (SCMs) ชนิดใหม่ ๆ
