มันดาลาสของเจดีย์ชเวดากอง

Abstract

          งานสถาปัตยกรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนามีความสัมพันธ์อย่างใกล้ชิดกับคณิตศาสตร์มาเป็นเวลายาวนาน ดังแสดงให้เห็นในมันดาลาสของเจดีย์ชเวดากอง พระธาตุลำปางหลวง และพระปรางค์วัดอรุณราช วรารามราชวรมหาวิหาร ในบทความนี้จะได้นำเสนอการสร้างมันดาลาสของเจดีย์ชเวดากองโดยใช้หลักการทางคณิตศาสตร์เพื่อเน้นให้เห็นความสำคัญของเรขาคณิตต่อโครงสร้างฐานรากของเจดีย์ที่มีความสำคัญทางพระพุทธศาสนาในดินแดนสุวรรณภูมิ 

           Buddhist architecture is closely related to mathematics for a long time as shown in the mandalas of Shwedagon Pagoda, Phra That Lampang Luang and  Phra Prang Wat Arun Ratchawararam. In this article the construction of  the mandalas of Shwedagon Pagoda using the principle of mathematics is presented to emphasize the importance of geometry to the foundations of the Pagoda’s structure which has the important to Buddhism in Suvarnabhumi.
