Abstract

This study aims to study and analyze opportunities and challenges, including the impacts of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Currently, the China-Laos-Thailand economic corridor is an area of economic connectivity for cross-border economic cooperation. Thailand is one of the countries collaborating with China and Laos in developing rail and road linkages to transport goods and passengers along the North-South economic corridor, aiming to enhance trade and economic activity within the corridor area crossing from China to Laos to Thailand. This collaboration can promote the improvement of transportation and logistics infrastructure, increasing connectivity and providing more options. Thailand, Laos, and China seek opportunities to cooperate in enhancing their respective capabilities to address the situation, strengths, challenges, and obstacles that can be managed collectively to drive the economy within their respective economic corridor areas. It can be achieved through regional development, national-level policies, and local-level collaborative management to create a shared economic corridor space for mutual benefits. In this three-country collaboration, there will be an increased focus on various aspects of development to drive decisions on policy proposals, supply chain management, and collaborative investment to elevate the value and income levels in the area.
