The study emphasizes that external wall insulation improves occupant comfort and increases building protection, and should focus on materials and methods, using case study methods and thermal conductivity measurements. The main materials include polystyrene panels (EPS), extruded polystyrene foam panels (XPS), thermal insulation mortar, cement foam insulation boards and rare earth insulation materials. The results of the study revealed different thermal conductivities of different materials, and the same materials under different conditions. The moisture levels of insulation materials affecting the thermal conductivities were also highlighted. The conclusion showed that EPS and XPS were more suitable for use as external wall insulation in China. The necessity of selecting insulation materials tailored to specific environmental contexts points out that although insulation is promising, there should still be strict standards in construction.
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY https://ph01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/saujournalst/article/view/257084 Effects of Temperature and Relative Humidity of Air on Temperature Distributions and Local Heat Transfer Rate of Longitudinal Fins of Rectangular and Triangular Profiles under Partially Wet Surface Conditions 2024-07-13T15:08:17+07:00 Totsapon Chanlaor 65910173@go.buu.ac.th Worachest Pirompugd worapiro@eng.buu.ac.th
Fins are the most widely used surface that enhances the heat transfer performance of heat exchangers. When the temperature of fin surface is lower than the dew point temperature, the water vapor in the moist air will condense and adhere the fin surface. The fin surfaces are under partially wet surface conditions. There is simultaneous mass, sensible heat, and latent heat of vaporization. In this research, the effects of air temperature and relative humidity on the temperature distributions and local heat transfer rates of the longitudinal fins of rectangular and triangular profiles under partially wet surface conditions are presented. From the results of programming, it can see that when the temperature and relative humidity of air increase, the temperature and heat transfer rate of air increase too. Additionally, the proportion of wet surface also increase. However, for the rectangular and triangular profiles, when the relative humidity increases, the local heat transfer rate at fin tip area decreases.
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY https://ph01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/saujournalst/article/view/258412 Conscious Bias in Thailand Job Posting 2024-09-21T15:45:22+07:00 Phaphontee Yamchote Phaphontee@we-stride.com Pemika Cunaviriyasiri Pemika@we-stride.com Traivith Chupkum Traivith@we-stride.com
This research paper investigates the presence of conscious bias in LinkedIn job postings within Thailand, focusing on gendered language and its impact on recruitment practices. Conscious bias, manifested through explicit preferences in job descriptions, can perpetuate inequality in the labor market. By analyzing job postings across ten in-demand roles in the tech and data-driven sectors, this study identifies patterns of gendered language and explores their implications for gender diversity in recruitment. Using a combination of Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools and statistical analysis, the research reveals that masculine-coded language is more prevalent in technical roles, potentially discouraging female applicants and contributing to the underrepresentation of women in leadership and senior positions. Additionally, the paper highlights the role of educational requirements as a barrier to inclusivity, particularly in fields that favor candidates with advanced degrees. The findings underscore the need for more inclusive job postings and greater enforcement of anti-discrimination policies to promote equality in the Thai labor market.
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY https://ph01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/saujournalst/article/view/258816 The Research and Development on Air Conditioning System of Novel Wheelchair for Moving the Respiratory Disease Patients 2024-11-14T11:08:24+07:00 Parinya Kiatpachai parinya.pongsoi@gmail.com Anotai Suksangpanomrung parinya.pongsoi@gmail.com Wanachart Borisut parinya.pongsoi@gmail.com Weerapun Duangthongsuk weerapund@sau.ac.th
The research and development on the air conditioning system of a novel wheelchair for moving the respiratory disease patients is the technical research for the air conditioning system designed to move the patients, it will benefit public health. The results of the study on the air conditioning system design and the design of the new wheelchair structure are proposed as : The prototype of a novel wheelchair structure is built with materials that can be found and installed easily. The new frame structure design is added without destroying the original structure. This optimal air flow is based on the maximum value of cigarette smoke from the smoker , is 30 CFM or 0.0141 m3/s (average air velocity of 1.8 m/s), which is used as the design value. The result showed that average air velocity for novel wheelchair in air conditioning system is 2.5 - 4 m/s, it is tested by the Anemometer. They also is calculated as pressure drop of 3.6 – 9.3 Pa, which is confirmed for practical application as Standard. Moreover, it covers as using for both the shape and age of the patients. Therefore, this novel wheelchair can be a prototype to be produced in larger quantities to support the infectious crisis of respiratory disease.
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY https://ph01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/saujournalst/article/view/258342 The Development of a Real-time Data Collection System from Sensor Networks to Support Smart Farming Application Development in Communities 2024-09-26T15:34:59+07:00 SUWIT SOMSUPHAPRUNGYOS suwit.s@rmutsb.ac.th Ratsames Tanveenukul ratsames.t@rmutsb.ac.th Boonyarit Nokkruth boonyarit.n@rmutsb.ac.th
In the era of information technology and artificial intelligence, data serves as a fundamental yet crucial element for computer applications functioning with various data sources. Despite recent legalization for medical and industrial purposes, our findings reveal a persistent negative public perception. Thais express significant concerns about potential societal harms, such as increased drug use and negative impacts on youth. While proponents highlight medical benefits and personal freedoms, the broader online conversation remains dominated by negative associations linked to cannabis, including crime and societal decay. Employing advanced natural language processing techniques, we identified three distinct sentiment clusters: strongly opposed, mixed, and supportive. Our results clearly show that while discussions about cannabis have grown, negative sentiment continues to prevail, especially when linked to political issues and perceived threats to social order. These findings underscore the complex interplay between public opinion, policy changes, and cultural attitudes toward cannabis in Thailand.
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY https://ph01.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/saujournalst/article/view/258383 The study of product quality surveillance by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute in disaster situations 2024-09-26T15:33:00+07:00 Janewit Promsomsa p.janewit35@gmail.com Sakchai Rakkarn sukchai.rak@kbu.ac.th Podchanee Sriwichian podchanee.sri@kbu.ac.th
This research focuses on studying the product quality surveillance conducted by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute during disaster situations. Its objective is to establish clear guidelines and methods for monitoring licensed parties when unexpected disasters occur, such as the severe outbreak of COVID-19, which created obstacles in following the planned inspection processes. Data from 2021 indicates that out of 416 licensed parties, only 78 were monitored, accounting for 18.75%, potentially leading to products that do not meet the required standards. The analysis highlights the identification of obstacles by using the 'Customer Journey' tool, which revealed missing steps or frameworks, resulting in ineffective monitoring. The proposed solution is the development of a surveillance program utilizing online communication platforms that allow inspections to continue during abnormal circumstances. The Google AppSheet program was adopted to enhance the efficiency of surveillance and align with the updated workflow. A three-month trial demonstrated that the revised monitoring process significantly improved efficiency, allowing the monitoring of 122 partiesout of 416, which accounts for 40.98% and the monitoring budget has been reduced by 164,300 baht, equivalent to 73.37%, with an average monthly decrease of 54,767 baht, demonstrating economic efficiency
2024-12-11T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 SAU JOURNAL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
