The Flood Management Strategy at Farmers Recognized in Phakhai Water Operation and Maintenance Project

Abstract

The study was carried out to formulate the management strategy to mitigate flooding problem that was likely accepted by farmers in Phakhai Water Operation and Maintenance Project by using the Logical Framework  Approach (LFA) as a vital tool or method. The involved stakeholders were consisting of 5 groups of participations namely rice farmers, local people, representative from local administrative organization, Representation from the Phakhai Water Operation and Maintenance Project, Royal Irrigation Development and policy makers or the concerns who having been associated with water management policy. The investigation by employing the LFA was to analyze the project’s focal problem, objectives and the flooding’s alleviating strategies, in which there by, the 3 strategies have been eventually concluded, i.e. compensation, the improvement of the management efficiency and upgrading the income per household.
